Measure at the base, not the top of the cut. If the ground is humped up around the stump, measure across the whole hump — that's buried stump. A rough guess is fine, or leave it blank and we'll go by your photos.

How do I measure?

  1. Not here: the top of the cut. It can read several inches small.
  2. Not here: where the wood disappears. Raised ground around the stump is still stump, just buried.
  3. Measure here: edge to edge across the mound, where it meets the normal ground level.
Not round? Use the widest span, including the raised mound.
